Time advances and the different streaming platforms continue to bring productions of all genres to their catalogs. If you've reached this point, and you still don't know what to see in the next few days, then take a look at this guide with the 7 most anticipated releases of August. Netflix, Disney+, HBO Max, Star+, Apple TV and Prime Video are waiting for you.

Guardians of the Galaxy Volume 3 (August 2 – Disney+)

One of Marvel's most successful and highest-grossing movies of 2023 is finally coming to streaming. Disney + will add to its catalog the latest mission of the Guardians of the Galaxy. Action, comedy, and drama will be the perfect ingredients of a story that will begin with the deadly attack by Adam Warlock, a sovereign warrior, on several of the protagonists.

Heartstopper (August 3 – Netflix)

This is undoubtedly one of the best series Netflix had last year. Those who have read Alice Oseman's graphic novels will know that her second season will be loaded with great things. Lots of romance, some drama, new friends and characters, and even a trip to Paris. But above all, we will see the answer to the question that everyone has asked: what will Nick and Charlie's new life be like now that they are a couple?

Lakers: Time to Win (August 6 – HBO Max)

For sports fans, there is good news, because the second season of this magical series will finally be released. The new installment consists of seven episodes and will be set between the 1980 and 1984 NBA seasons. The production not only focuses on telling how the historic rise of the Los Angeles Lakers was, but it is also a transformative look at elite basketball.

Only Murders in The Building (August 8 – Star+)

Selena Gomez, Steve Martin and Martin Short return to continue harmonizing one of the best comedy series of the moment. The few details that have been revealed ensure that the story will take a significant leap in time into the future, in which we will witness a new murder. In addition, great special guests such as Paul Rudd and Meryl Streep will appear for this occasion.

Shelter (August 18 – Prime Video)

A new adaptation of the works of Harlan Coben will come to streaming. Prime Video will be the one who tells the story of one of the author's star characters. The mystery will cover the life of Mickey Bolitar, a young man who moves to another city after the death of his father. There he will be involved in the disappearance of a girl from his school, and that will lead him to discover the darkest truths of a place that has always been marked by disappearances, deaths, and urban legends.

Invasion (August 23 – Apple TV)

Apple TV original productions are among the most anticipated each month, especially those that are based on science fiction. "Invasion" is proof of this, and this second season promises to be much better than the previous one. The dynamic is most likely the same, with a different geographical starting point in each episode. Emotional tensions, fear, and mistrust will reach higher levels as humanity continues to search for ways to survive the alien invasion.

One Piece (August 31 – Netflix)

Netflix insists on achieving success with a live-action adaptation of an anime, so this time they bet on the world-renowned story of Eiichiro Oda. Here we will see the adventures of Monkey D. Luffy, a young man with special abilities and a unique straw hat who aims to become the new pirate king. But to do so, he must first find the treasure of the last pirate King. Will he make it?
