Jarry's talent is undoubted. In just three months, "La Torre" managed to climb from position 113 to 61 of the ranking of professional tennis players, but that is not all. So far in 2018, Jarry is ranked 16th in the ATP race, meaning that the Chilean is the sixteenth best racket so far.

Chile has reaped great tennis players who have occupied the top positions in the world ranking and have managed to win important tournaments. Marcelo Ríos, Nicolás Massú, and Fernando Gónzalez -the last great racket in the country-. These athletes have been part of the world tennis elite. However, there have been no other big names after these three giants, at least until now, when young Jarry just started to appear. It is for this reason that Jarry represents the hope and rebirth of Chilean tennis.

The results speak for themselves. Jarry has given to speak not only in Chilean territory, but also outside southern territory, where he is also respected. The young racket has great advantages in his favor, like his 5’4” in height and his powerful service. In addition, Jarry has great mental strength, something essential to succeed in this sport.

"He does not express tensions, pressures like other contemporaries, who look irritable, irritable and IGNORE INTOlerant of failure, he does not, at all times, he is calm," journalist Mario Cavalla, a tennis expert, told Qué Pasa that Jarry will be a threat to the figures.

However, Jarry still has a lot to learn and grow. Now that he is in a privileged position in the world ranking, the tennis player will face much bigger challenges, as he will have to measure himself against bigger rivals to demonstrate his talent in important tournaments.

Jarry's agenda

Precisely from now on, the athlete's agenda will be filled with higher level tournaments that he has had to face to date. In the first place, Jarry will travel to Miami for the Masters 1000, followed by the Davis Cup in Argentina, Monte Carlo, and the ATP 500 in Barcelona. For this last tournament, the tennis player achieved the direct classification and he will face rivals like Dominic Thiem, Grigor Dimitrov, and Rafael Nadal, the highest winner of this contest with 10 titles.

Coach Horacio de la Peña predicts a good year for Nicolás Jarry, assuring Qué Pasa that if he maintains the level that has been shown and continues to grow, the young man of 22 Chileans can be among the 50 best in the world.

From now on interesting times are coming for Jarry. Roland Garros, next grand slam to be played in May on clay, and later Wimbledon, will be the opportunity for "La Torre" to show that it is, indeed, the hope of Chilean tennis.
