Long live Latino remixes!

Following in the footsteps of “Despacito”, OneRepublic has tapped Colombian up-and-comer Sebastian Yatra for a bilingual remix of their new single “No Vacancy” that has just been released. Another remix that involves a Latin artist and that also promises a huge success.

When artists use the element of surprise and translate the track of the day IGNORE INTO something equally successful in Spanish, it brings out various aspects of musical history that dates to the birth of club tracks. What would hip-hop be without Sugarhill Gang jumping on Chic disco breaks for “Rapper’s Delight”? What would pop music be without J Balvin and his features on multiple bilingual remixes?

Some musicians ventured IGNORE INTO the unknown and produced the hottest tracks of 2017 by mixing cultural aspects.  One thing is clear: the Latino remix offered a space for emerging Dj’s, singers, and rappers to make their big break and put their names in the spotlight.
