Leer en español: Película de LeBron James ¿Qué momentos de su carrera debería incluir?

A few days ago it was announced that the Peacock streaming platform will be the new home for a new movie about LeBron James' rise to an international basketball superstar.

The film, called Shooting Stars, was produced by the SpringHill Company, founded by James himself. It will be primarily based on the 2009 book of the same name, which tells of James' college basketball career.

Shooting Stars has been sold as an "origin story" for the best basketball player on the planet, in which we will see more than anything else his meteoric rise as a college player. However, we will surely also get to see some of James' best moments in the NBA. Here we wanted to make a small list of the moments that we think should be included in this film.

"I'm going to take my talents to Miami"

In 2010, James made one of the most controversial decisions in basketball history when he publicly announced he was leaving his home state of Ohio to join Miami Heat superstars Dwayne Wade and Chris Bosh. The phrase that stood out the most from his interview was "I'm going to take my talents to Miami", one that his critics interpreted as arrogance, and his fans received it with great emotion. Back then, transfers of big superstars to form powerful teams were still not that common, and players' loyalty to their original teams was appreciated.

Of course, today we know that move led to James' first two NBA championships in 2012 and 2013. At the time, though, as we've already mentioned, it was a bit of a selfish move. This is the best segment in the history of his career because it shows a very human James and shows that his great ambition does not always make him stand out well in the public eye.

The Cavaliers Come Back 3-1 in the Final

One of the most iconic moments of James' career was during the 2016 Finals. At that time, James was in the team with which he began his career, the Cleveland Cavaliers, to which he had sworn to win a championship. However, things were looking very bad for the king, as his rival team, the Golden State Warriors, had taken a three-game lead and only needed one to win the finals.

With everything to lose, the Cavaliers played the fifth game of the series and by a miracle, managed to win it. But things did not stop there. Led by James, the Cavs took the series to 3-3 and, with a final blow, took the last game. Nobody, before or since, has managed to come back from a series of finals being down 3-1.

James was named the most valuable player in those finals. And why not? In the last game, he had 27 points, 11 assists, and 11 rebounds.

Final Against Spain at the London Olympics

This was one of the most significant games in James's career for several reasons. In the first place, it was one of the few occasions in which he shared the same team with Kobe Bryant, who is considered the third-best player in history behind James. Additionally, it was the last time he represented his team in the Olympics, obtaining a gold medal. Finally, it was an opportunity in which he unequivocally matched Jordan, achieving a gold medal, an NBA championship, and an MVP in the same year, a feat only Michael had achieved.
