One of the most questioned issues in all of Latin America is the salaries of politicians. They will always be considered very high since in this area of the planet, poverty abounds and for moral reasons, it is thought that public servants should have income similar to that of most people.

But obviously this is not always the case. The leaders normally earn salaries well above the minimum salary and, at times, the difference is abysmal. These are the presidents who earn the most and the least in Latin America.

Although the salaries of the majority of leaders seem very high, it is also important to note that in most countries they are not the civil servants who earn the most. Generals, company directors and even ministers or congressmen sometimes earn more than their boss depending on the country. Although, it is also important to note that in most cases, presidents do not have additional expenses, since they do not pay rent (they live in the Presidential House), or food or services.
