Leer en español: Los recitales más largos e importantes de la historia

Music concerts are transforming in the wake of the pandemic. According to the Retina website, live music is advancing to adapt to the new times, generating streaming transmissions of the most important artists. However, it is also true that, historically, we were used to seeing them in person.

In this sense, the website of The New York Times mentioned a totally curious and impressive case of today. In Germany, an interpretation of a piece by the American composer John Cage is being given, which is scheduled to finish in the year 2640, although it is only recently that some chord changes are taking place, which brought together a select and reduced group of viewers who wanted to live this experience.

The idea, then, was to "overcome" limited human capacity, which prevents an artist from playing for so long continuously. However, that does not mean that there are no iconic cases of concerts that lasted much longer than one can foresee, so we decided to investigate which are the most important.

Bruce springsteen

In this case, we are talking about a concert that lasted 4 hours and 6 minutes, being the longest that this artist gave in his career, which took place in Helsinski, Finland, on July 31, 2021, according to the Gente Digital website. .

He is a musician who already had the reputation of offering long shows, where he performed many of his hits, but this exceeded the duration that his viewers expected.

Led Zeppelin

Led Zeppelin is one of the most iconic bands in rock history. In this case, we are talking about an experience that, according to the specialized website of Rock FM, occurred in 1972 at the Nassau Coliseum in New York.

The duration? About 4 and a half hours, where many photographs were taken and several of the most representative songs of the group were performed. This implied that the own Jimmy Page, founder of the band, remembers the details of this live performance, which amazed his fans with its quality and duration.

Spinetta and the Eternal Bands

If we talk about Latin American rock, we cannot fail to mention one of the greatest exponents: Luis Alberto Spinetta. In this case, we are talking about a performance that happened, as reported on the La Primera Piedra website, on December 4, 2009, where the musician gave one of the most emblematic shows of national rock at the Vélez Sársfield Stadium.

With a duration of almost 6 hours -more specifically, about 5 hours and 50 minutes-, the Argentine musician performed several of the songs he had with his various bands along with his extensive discography, bringing together the musicians who accompanied him in his history. In this way, according to Clarín, El Flaco got together with Almendra, Angry Fish, Invisible, Jade and Los Socios del Desierto. In addition, he added Charly García, Gustavo Cerati, Fito Páez, Ricardo Mollo and Juanse.

Kitai

Finally, we have an alternative rock band from Madrid which, on November 14, 2018, decided to test themselves to break a record: to be the first band to overcome the entire day playing their musical repertoire.

According to what MariskalRock reports, the Kitai group achieved the incredible figure of 24 hours and a couple of minutes playing on the stage of the Sala El Sol in Madrid, where they decided to overcome physical and mental fatigue to have their fans hooked to the concert. An impressive performance!
