Leer en español: Las mejores películas de Michael Keaton

To speak of Michael Keaton is to refer to one of the most prestigious and talented actors in the United States. Recently, we learned that the actor, who has an extensive filmography, reached 69 years. In other words, a prolific career in which he played several very successful roles.

However, the actor was also a trend as some will remember him as one of the best Batmans in history. This is so because, according to what the Télam news agency revealed, he will again embody this character in the film The Flash along with Ben Affleck, another of those who donned the batman suit, being a hugely celebrated news by the fans.

Thus, while some people will only know him as one of the most iconic heroes in movie history, he also has a prolific track record in many prestigious films. We decided, then, to find out which are the best films in which Michael Keaton acts.

Batman (1989)

Of course, we must start with one of his most iconic roles, which allowed him to display his talent on the big screen. This film, based on the homonymous DC Comics character, was directed by Tim Burton and was part of one of four belonging to this superhero.

According to what the Esquire medium thinks, Michael Keaton will always be "the best Batman ever." It was the first comic mass phenomenon to reach the big screen, showing that comics and their worlds can be attractive to the audience , achieving a fantastic adaptation for a very complex role.

Jackie Brown (1997)

Jackie Brown is a little known Quentin Tarantino film, but that doesn't mean it isn't well recognized by a group of fans. In this case, the actor played a policeman who was chasing an arms dealer, so, again, he had to play the role of hero in a film.

The specialized website of MicroPsia Cine emphasizes that this film reveals the “most human, mature and emotional side”, where we can see some controversial issues that would mark the future of this director, but also of the actor, who was moving away from his classic role of the batman.

Birdman (2014)

One of the most important films in the career of this actor. According to what the Hobbyconsolas medium mentions, it was the "winner of the Oscar for best film" in 2015. This film, directed by Mexican Alejandro González Iñárritu, seemed to be tailored to the actor, who achieved a nomination in the same ceremony for the award as "best actor", although he could not win it.

In this case, the actor was playing, paradoxically, an actor who had been successful in his past for having played a famous superhero (Birdman). After a time of frustrations, he decided to orient himself to a theatrical project, where we can review, together with him, all the complications he had. Therefore, the analogy between his career and the fictional character that he embodied, paradoxically, allowed him to return to the top.

Spotlight (2015)

Here we talk about a 2015 American drama film, which won the Oscar for best film in 2016. That is, for the second year in a row, the actor was once again at the top of Hollywood thanks to his performance, where he embodied a character who is an editor of a newspaper.

The film, according to El País, reveals "the evils of the system." Especially, the focus is on the Church, where the sexual abuse scandals caused by the Boston priests were revealed, something that, thanks to the magnificent direction of the filmmaker Tom McCarthy, allowed this story to be highly valued.

As mentioned on the 20 Minutes website, we will learn about the “dark origin of a fast food colossus”, where fierce capitalism is portrayed, showing that not all large companies expand ethically. All this, of course, while the actor uses all his acting resources to "steal" the screen.

Spiderman: Homecoming (2017)

Finally, we have a return of the actor to the world of superheroes … although embodying the villain. His enormous versatility allowed us to see him in the role of the Vulture, Peter Parker's villain in this first work directed by Jon Watts belonging to the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

Espinof's specialized website cataloged it as "the best webhead movie so far", where we have a comic tone, which is greatly used by an impeccable Michael Keaton. Therefore, it may be the ideal opportunity to review his varied work before he returns to the role that catapulted him to fame.
