Peso Pluma and the corridos tumbados

The corridos tumbados are a new musical genre that fuse mexican tradition with the urban modern. They are linked to the traditional corridos, from which they rescue some sounds and the themes of their lyrics. It is common to find songs that talk about the stories of characters that can be related to drug trafficking, a theme that is highly criticized, but that is part of the reality of many countries in Latin America and the world.

The difference between the corridos tumbados and the traditional ones lies in the modern touch they have. The fusion with urban music and trap are notorious, this makes many young people feel identified and called by its rhythms.

How Are Corridos Tumbados Born?

The father of this new genre is considered to be Natanael Cano, with whom Featherweight has already collaborated. This artist popularized the new musical style, but the pioneers are Herencia de Patrones and Fuerza Regida.

The music industry has changed a lot in recent years, artists have the ability to release independently on various platforms. This gives rise to new musical combinations and singers like Peso Pluma can make themselves known worldwide and become representatives of new genres such as lying down corridos.

This genre, which is only a few years old, has become very popular. It is common to hear it in neighborhood stores, bars and on the street. His lyrics about heartbreak, social problems and other topics with which people feel identified have generated artists like Peso Pluma to rise to fame.
