With the beginning of 2023, the big film productions have opted to adapt books to the screen. These have stood out among the public for different reasons. This bet is quite common. In fact, throughout history, copies such as "One Hundred and One Dalmatians", "The Chronicles of Narnia", "Call Me by Your Name", "The Godfather", "Tarzan" or "Anna Karenina" have managed to go beyond the paper and get to the big screen.

For this year, we present six books that during 2023 will be adapted to the cinema. These stories earned a vote of confidence and have generated great expectations among fans, who look forward to seeing their favorite copies in series or movie format.

1. "Percy Jackson and the Olympians," Rick Riordan

Disney Plus will be the streaming service in charge of showing the book saga of "Percy Jackson and the Olympians" in a series format, with an important role by its author Rick Riordan. From the hand of the actor Walker Scobell, who will personify the titular character, the first season should come out at the end of 2023 or at the beginning of 2024. However, the latter has not yet been confirmed. Percy Jackson tells the story of a young man who is the son of Poseidon, the Greek god of the sea and earthquakes. Percy, with his friends, embarks on a mission that will face monsters and titans from Greek mythology.

2. "Aristotle and Dante Discover the Secrets of the Universe", Benjamin Alire Sáenz

It is one of the best LGBT novels of the last decade and was shown for the first time in September of last year at the Toronto International Film Festival. It will hit the big screen this year. Those who play the protagonists are Max Pelayo and Reese Gonzales. The cast includes Eva Longoria and Eugenio Derbez.

It is a story in which two opposite teenagers strike up a friendship. As time goes by, this friendship can transform into something more. Self-discovery, first love and sexual awakening are part of the characteristics of Benjamin Alire Sáenz's book that should be reflected in the film.

3. "Hurricane Season", Fernanda Melchor

The Mexican journalist and writer Fernanda Melchor has stood out in recent years for her books "Falsa hare", "Páradais", "This Is Not Miami" and "Hurricane Season". Netflix confirmed during the first half of last year that it would adapt "Hurricane Season". The novel talks about the violence, misery, and difficulties that Mexican society faces, problems that Melchor always addresses in her writings. "Hurricane Season" is made up of a series of stories that captivates from beginning to end due to the characteristics mentioned above.

4. "Red, White, and Blue Blood," Casey McQuiston

The romantic comedy by American Casey McQuiston will be released this 2023 on the big screen on Prime Video and directed by playwright Matthew López. The book tells the fictional story of the son of the first female President of the United States and the grandson of the English queen. At first, they are both enemies, but due to a misunderstanding that forces them to improve their relationship in the eyes of the press, they meet and establish a powerful bond. It has already been confirmed that Taylor Zakhar Perez and Nicholas Galitzinea will play Alex Claremont-Díaz, son of the President of the United States, and Prince Henry, respectively. In August 2022 the recordings ended.

5. "Knock at the Cabin," based on the book "The Cabin at the End of the World" by Paul Tremblay

Some controversy has been generated with the premiere of "Knock at the Cabin", which is an adaptation of the book by Paul Tremblay "The Cabin at the End of the World". The public has wondered about the absence of the writer's name in all regards to the promotion of the film. Despite the above, in February the film will be released in different regions of the world. The main plot tells that a family is locked in a cabin away from everything as hostage to a group of armed men. Without being able to communicate with the outside world, the family must make key decisions to avoid a catastrophe.

"Daisy Jones & The Six", Taylor Jenkins Reid

To speak of Taylor Jenkis Reid is to mention one of the great writers of recent times. Therefore, it is not surprising that after a long wait one of her most successful books, "Daisy Jones & The Six", came to the screen as a series thanks to Amazon Prime. This series that tells the story of Daisy, who is presented as one of the most outstanding rock and roll artists in the history, will be released on March 3. The story gets complicated when a love triangle seems to form in the band in which she participates. Complications arise because everyone loves Daisy Jones.
