With 2022 drawing to a close, there are many artists who have produced new music and have stood out throughout the year, with records that have received wide recognition and, on occasion, multiple awards. That is why this time we present you the ten Latin American albums that have stood out throughout this 2022.

"De adentro pa fuerat", by Camilo

In the third album by one of the most outstanding Colombian artists of recent years, Camilo continues to position himself among the most listened to by the public. The artist accumulates more than 20 million monthly listeners on Spotify. He released hits from this album as a result of collaborations; in fact, six of the 11 singles are sung together with other artists. Of these, the main ones are "Índigo" (collaboration with his wife Evaluna Montaner and which registers more than 167 million views on YouTube), "Ambulancia" (collaboration with Camila Cabello), "Nasa" (collaboration with Alejandro Sanz) and "Drinking Alone" (collaboration with Myke Towers).

"Tinta y tiempo", by Jorge Drexler

The Uruguayan Jorge Drexler was the great winner of the Latin Grammys, so his album could not be missing from this list. Drexler took home six of the seven gramophones he was nominated for at this year's awards for his most recent album, "Tinta y Tiempo." In this, Drexler demonstrates that music is timeless and translates it into his collaborations, which range from songs with Panamanian Rubén Blades ("Tocarte") to one with Madrid's C.Tangana ("Oh, Algoritmo!").

"El renacimiento" by Carla Morrison

After almost seven years, Carla Morrison has returned to making music, and her fans appreciate it. The Mexican, owner of one of the most prodigious voices in her country, has been reborn with "El renacimiento", an album with eleven songs where "Contigo", "Diamantes", "Ansiedad" and "Encontrarme" stand out, this last song was nominated for a Latin Grammy in the Song of the Year category, and "El renaissance" was nominated for Contemporary Pop Vocal Album.

"El amor que merecemos", by Kany García

It was highlighted as one of the best Latin albums of the year by the prestigious Billboard magazine in the middle of the year, and the truth is that with good reason. "El amor que merecemos", by the Puerto Rican, mixes many rhythms such as tropical music, romantic ballads, pop and urban touches, with the participation of Alejandro Sanz, Rozalén and Jay Wheeler and, probably, its main song, "DPM ( De Pxta Madre)" has more than 32 million views on YouTube since it premiered.

"Un verano sin ti" by Bad Bunny

For the third consecutive year, Bad Bunny was the most streamed artist on Spotify in the world, which speaks of his significance and magnitude as a singer. "Un verano sin ti" is his most recent album, and it has been the most listened to album worldwide on the platform. As if that were not enough, this album has made history after becoming the first Spanish album to be nominated on the Album of the Year category at the Grammys. A trajectory that does not seem to have a ceiling.

"Dharma", by Sebastián Yatra

This year, Colombian Sebastián Yatra received his first two Latin Grammy awards, in the categories of Best Pop Song for "Tacones rojos" and Best Pop Vocal Album for "Dharma", an album that has taken him to the next level. It is the album with the most collaborations with Yatra -more than 24 million monthly listeners on Spotify-, where duets with Daddy Yankee, Aitana, Guaynaa, Rosario and Rauw Alejandro stand out, and probably his most successful album to date.

"Marchita", by Silvana Estrada

As a voice from another era, this is how Silvana Estrada could be defined despite being 25 years old. The Mexican woman brings nostalgia, melancholy and heartbreak in each of her compositions and, in "Marchita", this is recognized. In recent Latin Grammys, she received two nominations and won the coveted Best New Artist statuette, an award she shared with 95-year-old Cuban Ángela Álvarez and which she hopes will mark a before and after in her promising career.

"Ya no somos los mismos", by Elsa and Elmar

Elsa y Elmar (Elsa Carvajal) received four Latin Grammy nominations for her album "Ya no somos los mismos." The Colombian, who already has five albums throughout her career, has stood out with an album with 14 alternative pop songs that deliver messages that invite reflection. "Amantes y amigos", "Vuelve" and "Hasta dónde se enamora" are the main themes of this production.

"The golden light", by Fito Páez

Nine songs, three of them instrumental and with a piano that transports listeners to an intimate and unique place. "The Golden Light" is the new work of art by Argentine Fito Páez, an artist who already has more than 40 years of experience and who continues with creations that do not disappoint. This piece has earned him a Grammy nomination, in the category of Best Latin Rock or Alternative Album, where he will compete with Rosalía, Mon Laferte, Jorge Drexler, Cimafunk and the Guatemalan Gaby Moreno.

"De todas las flores", by Natalia Lafourcade

The Mexican premiered her most recent album on October 28 and has already received recognition. Rolling Stone Magazine made its traditional count with the 100 best albums of 2022, and "De todas las flores" appears at number 95. If the above were not enough, Lafourcade accumulates almost nine million monthly listeners on Spotify; and with the 12 songs of her most recent creation, which in total lasts one hour and six minutes, the composer once again demonstrates all her vocal and interpretive quality, with singles that invite us to celebrate life, but also to understand that has difficult moments. Another masterpiece from the one born in Mexico City.
