Patricia, of Uruguayan nationality, is the pilot, participating in more than 50 rallies and who has occupied a place on 12 podiums with 16 international participations. Alba is Spanish and has been contesting 100 rallies, obtaining five victories, with 19 absolute podium finishes. She has been a co-driver for Nasser Al-Attiyah, current Dakar champion, in the Oman Rally.

The Morocco Rally, which will take place from October 6 to 12, 2022, is one of the most difficult races, and that is why it is one of the most important in the FIA Cross-Country Rally World Cup with more than 1,700 kilometers of road through the sand dunes. It is similar to the one in Saudi Arabia and validates the participants to register for the Dakar.

The Dakar, which consists of more than 3,800 kilometers, is by far the most difficult in the world. It begins and ends in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, traversing the canyons and cliffs of the Neom region and passing through the Red Sea. It is scheduled to take place from January 1 to 14, 2023.

This race, previously called the Paris-Dakar Rally because that city is the starting point, has been organized by the ASO since December 1978. Since 1995 it has selected other European cities such as Granada, Lisbon, and Barcelona, ​​where the runners from everyone to get started. On some occasions, it has ended up in cities like Cairo and Sharm el-Sheikh in Egypt in 2000 and 2003.

In the 2009 and 2019 editions, the Dakkar rally was held in South America, passing through the countries of Argentina, Bolivia, Chile, Paraguay, and Peru. By 2020, its headquarters have permanently moved to Saudi Arabia. Since the 2017 edition, the competition has been expanded to five categories: cars, motorcycles, trucks, quads or quads, and side by side.

It is worth following the trajectory of these women who have chosen this sport and who, for the first time, if they obtain the necessary sponsorship, could represent the first opportunity for a South American woman to participate in the SSV category.
