These are the current armed conflicts in the world that are rarely talked about:

Yemen
It is, perhaps, the most remembered today in comparison with the coverage made in Ukraine. The Arab country has been in a civil conflict since 2014 and has the direct and indirect participation of several regional and world powers.

The conflict began in 2014 when a coup against President Al-Hadi was carried out. At present, at least 4 sectors can be counted: the Houthis rebels; the army loyal to Hadi, and the Arab League; a small group loyal to Al-Qaeda; and the army of the Southern Transitional Council.

According to the European Commission, in the course of the conflict, around 60,000 deaths have been documented.

Afghanistan
Despite the fact that the United States and the West occupied the country for 20 years, they withdrew and the Taliban occupied the entire power vacuum. However, the total control of the country has not been homogeneous and despite the fact that they control the largest amount of territory, other rebel and terrorist groups still keep the conflict alive.
Since the US withdrawal in 2021, the conflict between the Taliban and groups such as the Islamic State has increased.

Ethiopia

Also known as the war in Tigray, because its epicenter is in the Tigray region, in the north of the country. This conflict began in 2020 and has left, according to United States government sources, almost 1 million people dead from starvation. The roots of this war date back to the 1994 civil war and have ethnic elements.

According to Amnesty International, this conflict has registered human rights violations and the murder of civilians.
In Tigray, forces loyal to the central government and the allied government of Eritrea are clashing against the Tigray Defense Forces, the Oromo Liberation Army, and the Gumuz Liberation Front. So far, official figures count hundreds of thousands of deaths between combatants and civilians.

Syria

Although in recent years the cruelty of the violence in Syria has decreased, the conflict is still active and claiming human lives. The civil war between troops loyal to Bashar al-Assad; the Turkish-backed Free Syrian Army; the Islamic State; and Kurdish troops continues. This conflict has left approximately 370,000 dead, 1 million wounded, and more than 5 million displaced.

Jihadism in Africa

After the weakening and near extinction of the Islamic State in the Middle East, the greatest activity of this terrorist group is located in Africa. The largest number of fighting or attacks are recorded in Mali, Niger, Burkina Faso, Somalia, Congo, and Mozambique.

Other conflicts

To all these conflicts can be added that of the Korean peninsula, where, in theory, both nations are at war. Or the coups in Myanmar, Burkina Faso, Guinea, Sudan, Mali, and Chad. Or, the conflict between Palestine and Israel, which has been active for several decades and goes through periods of ceasefire, but has not achieved lasting peace. Or, in Colombia, where, despite the peace agreement between the Government and the FARC, there are still armed groups in confrontation with the Government.
