Five Best-Selling Books We’ll See On Screen In 2022

Taking advantage of the success of several books, various entertainment platforms have decided to bet on telling these stories in another way, transferring the role and taking them to the big screen. Throughout history great classics such as "A Clockwork Orange", "Alice in Wonderland", "Around the World in 80 Days", "To Kill a Mockingbird" or "Les Miserables", have been adapted to films.

Here are five books that during 2022 will be adapted cinematographically, either as a series or film, promising to give something to talk about through the different platforms that have decided to bet on them.

"Death on the Nile" (film)

The adaptation of the novel "Death on the Nile" by the British Agatha Christie will be released next January 11 in the big cinemas in different parts of the world and will be a sequel to the film released in 2017 called "Murder on the Orient Express". "Death on the Nile," tells the story of a wealthy woman who has everything and who on her honeymoon travels on a luxurious cruise on the Nile River, in what seems to be a spectacular trip, but that ends in tragedy when is killed unexpectedly. From there, detective Hercule Poirot will enter the scene, who must decipher all the mysteries surrounding this crime.

"Heartstopper" (series)

One of the phenomena of recent years has been the graphic novel "Heartstopper", a cartoon created by the English Alice Oseman and which has positioned itself at the top of LGBTQ + literature. Four volumes are those that the author has published to date, and a fifth comic is coming for this 2022. Netflix has decided to bet on the realization of a series that will be released on June 24.

Remember that "Heartstopper" shows us the story of Charlie and Nick, two boys who are classmates and who are also best friends. At some point, one of the two feels deeply in love with the other but believes that it will not be reciprocated, because he thinks that his friend is heterosexual, but love surprises them both. This is a story of affection, overcoming, illnesses, family problems, and much more.

"The Lord of the Rings" (series)

To talk about "The Lord of the Rings" is to talk about one of the best-selling books of all history and one of the highest-grossing films of the century. On this occasion, Amazon Prime Video has decided to adapt JRR Tolkien's novel to a series that will be released on September 2. The platform spent millions of dollars for the realization of this series, and plans to maintain the essence of the novel, with many seasons recorded in advance and with a cast that will be made up of Morfydd Clark, Robert Aramayo, Joseph Mawle, Nazanin Boniadi, among others.

"Red, White, and Blue Blood" (film)

A novel that mixes love, politics, and sexual awakening. A gay-themed book that became an icon and was written by American Casey McQuiston, will arrive as a film this year thanks to Amazon Studios. The book talks about the son of the first woman president of the United States and Prince Henry, grandson of the English queen. They are both enemies but an accident that they both cause forces them to seem friends in the eyes of the tabloid press so that in this way the image of both nations is not stained and in that way, as time passes they realize that they can be friends and maybe something else, although that could get them into more than one problem.

"The Sandman" (series)

Neil Gaiman's comic series will be another of the expected premieres that Netflix will offer this year, and despite not having the exact date of its premiere, the expectation is high. "The Sandman" is highly recognized in the DC Comics industry and, if successful, it is planned that more seasons will continue to come out. In addition, some data that is known so far is that Tom Sturridge, Gwendoline Christie, and Boyd Holbrook will be in the main cast and that this first installment will have a total of 11 episodes, where each one will have practically an hour in duration.
