Wouldn’t it be great for children to grow up knowing how important it is to preserve the environment? The Woman Post brings you a list of channels and shows that will simplify the task of raising eco-friendly human beings.

Kids are often interested in playing outside, learning about animals, and discovering everything about our world. However, sometimes as parents we don’t find it easy to explain the science behind the environment and it may be even more challenging to try to make our kids conscious about the environmental constraints that are taking place. Fortunately, various channels and shows can be a great resource when it comes to helping children understand everything about the natural world.

1. Octonauts

Octonauts is a series for children, produced by Silvergate Media for the BBC channel CBeebies. It is based on the children’s books written by Vicky Wong and Michael C. Murphy. Captain Barnacles and his team of underwater explorers work on different missions to help sea creatures. Your children will learn about a variety of species!

2. Crash Course Kids

Crash Course Kids is a show about grade-school science. Some of its topics are Earth, Habitats, Space, Chemical Reactions, and engineering. It is known for its great animation and tailored-made explanations for kids. Key terms are spelled out with simple definitions to ensure kids understand. You can find their videos on Youtube.

3. Bob the Builder

“Reduce, reuse, recycle” known as the three “Rs”, are constantly mentioned by Bob and the Can-Do Crew in Bob the Builder Project: Build It. In a world that has been filled with single-use plastics teaching children, the three “Rs” have become very important! Additionally, this show is great for teaching kids about staying positive and working in teams!

4. National Geographic Kids

Available on Youtube, National Geographic Kids Channel will help your kids learn about animals and science. Some interesting episodes to enjoy in the family include one dedicated to the solar system and those about Amazing Animals. The ultimate goal of the creators of the channel was to awaken the curiosity of children and to help them develop important skills by stimulating their imagination with creative content!

5. Go Jetters

Go Jetters is a geography-based program, co-produced by CBeebies In House Production and BBC Worldwide. The show is designed for pre-schoolers and it depicts the adventures of heroes, Xuli, Kyan, Lars, and Foz, while they travel the world along with their teacher and friend, Ubercorn. While exploring different places of the world, they help to save famous landmarks and to fix environmental problems caused by Grandmaster Glitch.

So if you wake up tomorrow feeling like you are too small and insignificant to help the world, remember that your children might also help to preserve our planet and that they need fun and creative ways to learn to play their role in taking good care of the Earth.
