Spider-Man 3 could be one of the great movies of the Marvel Cinematic Universe. After two first parts that revitalized one of the most iconic superheroes in history, this version played by Tom Holland could be a film that exceeds the expectations of all fans.

The idea of having a "spiderverse" is constantly being reinforced. Especially, during these last days, when different news came to light about some important personalities who will be present in this film, directed by the talented Jon Watts. So let's see what we know and what we could expect from the next Spiderman movie.

All information about Spider-Man 3

The first thing to say is that Spider-Man is one of the most important and popular heroes in all of history. For this reason, the character of Peter Parker was embodied in different opportunities on the big screen. The most relevant were the original Sam Raimi trilogy, with Tobey Maguire as the main character; in addition to the two films by Marc Webb, with Andrew Garfield in the title role.

None of these sagas belongs to the Marvel Cinematic Universe … until now. Let's remember that in the MCU the role belongs to the charismatic young Tom Holland, but the fans always had the dream of seeing the three heroes acting as a team. Well, from Collider they exclusively revealed that both Andrew Garfield and Tobey Maguire will be in the film.

This would occur because Doctor Strange (the character played by Benedict Cumberbatch) will become the mentor of Tom Holland's Peter Parker, after the death of Tony Stark. In addition, there is a really important detail: the sequel film of this hero will be directed by Sam Raimi, director of Tobey Maguire's iconic Spider-Man trilogy. Precisely, the name will be "The multiverse of madness", which confirms the presence of multiverses in the MCU.

The really funny thing is that the three versions of the superhero would not appear by themselves. By contrast, an update to the same report indicated that Kirsten Dunst and Emma Stone would also make it to the same movie. The first is Mary Jane: Tobey Maguire's partner in the original trilogy. The second plays Gwen Stacy, also Peter Parker's girlfriend, but the one played by Andrew Garfield.

This version is reinforced much more if we take into account that in Fotogramas they commented that Emma Stone left Babylon, the Damian Chazelle film in which she would act, since she has a “very tight schedule”. In other words, the idea of leaving a really important film only suggests that there is an even more ambitious project for which she decided to sign.

All these appearances would fit, since they are not different versions of the same person. I mean, Gwen Stacy and Mary Jane Watson are different people. At the same time, the MJ who is Tom Holland's character's love interest is “not Mary Jane Watson,” but an entirely different person. This sparked criticism at the time, but it might make sense considering this multiverse.

This does not end here, since there is also another character that was not in the Marvel Cinematic Universe that could appear in the film: Daredevil. More specifically, that of the version by Charlie Cox in the Netflix series, who could serve as Peter Parker's lawyer after the accusations he received in the second film after Mysterio's death.

As for the villains, we could also have a true crossover of the different movies of the arachnid hero. Exclusively, The Hollywood Reporter had mentioned that Jamie Foxx would return to play the villain Electro, who had appeared in Andrew Garfield's second Spider-Man movie. Even the actor himself confirmed it on his Instagram through a publication, although later he ended up deleting it.

However, that's not all, because it was also known that one of the best adaptations of an emblematic villain would appear again: that of Alfred Molina's Doctor Octopus, who appeared in the second film directed by Sam Raimi, where he faced the Tobey Maguire's Spider-Man. That is, not only would we have several heroes together, but they would also appear with their respective villains.

It remains to be seen how the decision to introduce each character will be justified, as many of them lost their lives in their respective films. In Spider-Man: Far From Home we had one of the best Easter eggs in the entire MCU, as the iconic character J. Jonah Jameson reappeared in a Spider-Man movie, after his adaptation in Tobey Maguire's. … Although they were “different versions”.

Knowing that this actor recorded more appearances for the MCU, the producers of the film clarified that both adaptations are by the same actor. Therefore, it is necessary to see how they justify the inclusion of so many characters. Be that as it may, expectations are higher than ever, so we'll have to wait until December 17, 2021 to see our dream come true: to have all the Spider-Men together.
