A third of the world population is confined by COVID19. Hairdressing at home, DIY, cleaning, telecommuting, and the end of school, Spotify put to size the searches of its users and made lists with songs and podcasts that accompany thousands of people to take advantage of their time at home.

With many closed beauty salons around the world, there has been a 50% increase in the creation of playlists using keywords such as "haircut," "dyed hair," and "hair dye," the company explains.

The most popular songs on these playlists talk about the seemingly impossible task of styling at home and include songs like "Complicated" by Avril Lavigne, "Sugar, We Goin Down" by Fall Out Boy, and "Stressed Out" Twenty One Pilots and more, creating a fun playlist.

Likewise, playlists with coloring themes have increased by approximately 40% and painting playlists by more than 90%.

But other lists with searches like gardening have had a growth of 430% with songs like "Avant Gardener" by Courtney Barnett, "Mr. Blue Sky" by Electric Light or a podcast for those who prefer practice over inspiration. The most popular are The Joe Gardener Show, Epic Gardening: Daily Growing Tips and Advice, and The RHS Gardening Podcast.

Hobby podcasts are also at their best. For arts and crafts, listeners are tuning in to Just Wanna Quilt , with streams of over 125%, while WeCrochet has seen streams increase by over 60%.

School Dropout also has their charts, and Jonas Brothers' “Sucker” or Dua Lipa's “Don't Start Now” are among the most popular song choices with a 1,000% increase in playlists with homeschooling themes, it's clear that many are turning to music to accompany their days.

And finally, clean up, the most popular confinement activity has a beat, users are delighted with songs like "Uptown Funk" by Bruno Mars and Mark Ronson, "Roar" by Katy Perry, "Toxic" by Britney Spears, "Mr. Brightside "by The Killers, and" Work "by Drake and Rihanna. Options that are quite an institution and that made Spotify create lists based on the choices of its users in times of pandemic.
