We have seen the black widow in approximately ten of the Marvel Cinematic Universe movies, but never alone. Now, finally, the superheroine will have the feature film she deserves. Portrait by Scarlett Johansson, the Black Widow has been a faithful companion and colleague of The Avengers in their films as a whole and in some dedicated exclusively to each of her characters. Now we will see it in a production made exclusively to tell her story.

What is the Black Widow about?
The Black Widow is a character from the Marvel comics created by the late and legendary Stan Lee. She is a Russian spy who initially worked as an antagonist of the superhero Iron Man in the comics. Then, she deserted before the US government and, since her training cannot be wasted, she becomes a SHIELD agent to work side by side with the other superheroes that are part of The Avengers. Her name is Natasha Romanoff and she has been played by Scarlett Johansson in the Marvel Cinematic Universe movies.
The film will promptly tell what happens with Natasha after the events in Captain America: Civil War. In chronology, after this movie, Natasha is left alone and is persecuted by law. This is why she must return home to face ghosts of her past because she is tired of fleeing. We see, then, that she will be reunited with her family and we will see especially her sister, who will be played by Florence Pugh, with whom Natasha has a rivalry relationship. Her sister is also a black widow, that is, a spy trained by Soviet Russia in the Red Room.
The film will also appear David Harbor, interpreting the Russian version of Captain America, and Rachel Weisz, who plays a spy trained in the Red Room of the Soviets and who is also part of a scientific experiment.
The script is by Jac Schaeffer and Ned Benson and will be directed by Cate Shortland and produced by Kevin Feige.
When will it be released?
The official movie trailer was released on December 3, but there is no exact release date yet. What is certain is that we can see the Black Widow starring in her own movie for April or May next year.
