Need a business idea? Here are 6

So you want to start a small business? Having that entrepreneurial drive is only half the battle: To begin your journey, you’ll need a great business idea that’s practical and in-demand, but also unique enough to stand out among the millions of others. Here are 6 ideas that might help you out:

1. Blogger: If you’re passionate and knowledgeable in a certain area and you enjoy writing, then you can start blogging as a way to bring in a little extra cash. Keep in mind that this won’t happen overnight, and you probably won’t become rich, but working with affiliate programs, selling ad space, and publishing an e-book are ways that you can earn money through writing. I personally have been able to earn extra cash over the years by blogging.

2. Wedding planner: You will need to be up-to-date on wedding trends and fads, dress styles, color trends; almost everything under the sun! Offer your customers an ala carte menu of services, from helping pick flowers, the wedding gown and bridesmaid dresses to picking the venue and hiring the caterer. Before you open your business, shop at all the wedding shops, and even pretend you are a bride-to-be to see what kinds of services the wedding gown shop provides and how they treat potential customers. You need to know every detail of the business to give the accurate impression that you are the go-to person for anyone planning a wedding.

3. Home-based food services: If you love baking or cooking, consider launching a home-based bakery, personal chef or catering business. You can whip up your concoctions for individuals, events, and local businesses and organizations. Not only is it a rewarding opportunity to make money doing what you love, but it’s also a great way to test your culinary chops before investing in a full-fledged brick-and-mortar establishment. Keep in mind that home-based food businesses are heavily regulated, so start by figuring out the rules and regulations in your area.

4. Translator: If you’re fluent in another language, or would love to learn, you can also start making a living as translator. To get started, you should get accredited or earn a certification. After that, you can find gigs on most freelance websites. You can also use your language skills to teach English to students either remotely or in an actual classroom.

5. Jewelry making: There are many different ways of getting IGNORE INTO the jewelry business and many different types of materials with which you can work. Working in metal will probably require the most in the way of specific tools. You need to be able to heat the metal to manipulate it, and you need metalworking tools to cut and engrave it. But there are many other materials that you can work with to make jewelry; glass, plastic, beads, feathers, even wood, to name just a few.

6. Bed and breakfast: If you have the extra space and enjoy entertaining others, then get IGNORE INTO the bed and breakfast business, if you’re zoned correctly. Thanks to Airbnb, you can now rent out a room, apartment, or house with relative ease.
