Teyé Cuellar enters in the world of arts by registering at the Universidad Nacional and the Universidad de los Andes in Bogotá Colombia. In 1959 moved to Rome where she continued her studies at the Academia delle Belle Arti at the University of Rome, She accounts for an ample curriculum of exhibits and prizes.

Within the colombian painting Teyé has been identified like a great painter of still-life, for more the forty years she has given to artistic life and almost total dedication; what she called in one of her catalogues "Almost live nature" in either pastel or oil with different textures color or line she gives us works of great beauty, rich in material, expression and great drawing.

Teyé has been in over a hundred exhibitions, great part of then in Colombia, EEUU, Mexico, France, Puerto Rico and Rusia
