Ana Maria Rezk lives and works in Bogotá, Colombia; sells her art in U.S.A., Lebanon and Cyprus. She has devoted herself to painting since early 1990, her work varies by circumstance; the materials used ( acrylic and mixed media ) allows her to manipulate colour, light and shape of her inmediate sourroundings, both environmental and emotionally. The esthetic struggle results in a subtile meditative dimension.

"I conceive the picture plane as being an energy field. I paint an abstraction of landscape movement and energy. The light is colored, theatrically. Composition is rural and the space illusionistic. The painting is a still shot of a moving image. I coax the forms up out of my unconscious, where the mystery resides. The result is a painting that is an abstraction carrying along with it, a unique view of reality.

The visual rhythms in the spots of the landscape are an infinite source of inspiration, changing with each subtle shift in light and weather, these spots intrigue her as a subject on many levels - as connections between people and places, as pure forms and as a metaphor for the interconnected nature of life. Her work stands out by its relatively explicit use of colour.
